Hi, my name is Katie Robson and I am the mum of the family, we then have Scott who is Dad, our 2 beautiful boys and new-born baby girl. Then of course the family wouldn’t be complete without our resident cuddly toys BoBo (the giraffe) AND Beaver!

We applied for the Ultimate Family Job as a family who loves to travel and like most, dreamt about what an unbelievable experience it would be! But at the same time, we never for a second thought we would actually win it, even when we found out we were the winners we still couldn’t believe it until we boarded our first flight. The dream of visiting one of the admired Club Med resorts was finally going to become a reality and we were so excited!

I think this was our best trip yet, mainly down to the fact we have really got to know Club Med so well from the previous 2 trips and so it almost feels like a home away from home. Travelling with 3 young children can always be daunting especially travelling so far. However, holidaying with Club Med immediately makes us feel safe as we know what to expect and from day 1, we threw ourselves into the club med experience. This included getting to know not only the GOs but everyone that worked at the resort, and we really felt part of the village. All the destinations we have visited with Club Med have been unbelievably beautiful, but the Seychelles was truly exquisite, and I would say the word ‘paradise’ doesn’t even come close to describing this island.
Our typical day would be to get down for breakfast as early as possible, the variety of food available made eating with the children at the resort super easy. We would eat at the beautiful pool-side restaurant Turtle Cove where we could sit outside gazing across the pool and out to sea which gives you an amazing view of the surrounding islands. The boys would finish their breakfast quickly and head pool side where they would grab a fresh towel and pick a spot to let their pancakes digest before practicing their snorkeling skills. We would ‘relax’ (as much as you can with 3 children) in the pool for much of the morning in between joining in on the many morning activities available snorkeling with the team, hiking, Spin Class, table tennis, yoga and or aqua aerobics. Our youngest son would often like to take a break from the water to go build Lego or play giant Jenga or grab some extra snacks with the one of the GO’s from the bar.
Scott or I liked to take the baby for a little park visit which is in the very beautiful, shaded kids club area before a long walk around the resort to get her off to sleep. Once baby was asleep, we could head over to the adults only ZEN pool which allowed us to make the most of the peace and quiet and get lost in a good book with cocktail in hand. From there we would often have an ocean swim in the turquoise waters just a few yards away from the Zen pool. Regularly met some of the other ‘wilder’ residents including the amazing baby lemon sharks.
We would then have some lunch either back at Turtle Cove or the beautiful Reef bar lounge. For the afternoon we all liked to take a leisurely stroll across the footbridge to spot the sharks and head towards Mummy’s favorite white sandy beach on St Annes where the islands own giant tortoises would be found. We all grew quite attached (especially CoCo who liked to hang around the Watersports) the boys loved to gently stroke them/ shower them and feed them the flowers (as guided by the nature guide GO) The boys loved to make the most of the water sports on offer here and of course the adults enjoyed beach bar which was only a couple of steps from the nautical center. We would often stay here for sunset swims before heading back to our room to get dressed for an evening. Checking in on the app to see the lose dress code for that night (admittedly not always followed)
I can honestly day no day was ever really the same as there were so many different places to explore and even more experiences to delve into.
We have seriously created some core memories this trip and too many to be able to name just one but for us simply getting the opportunity to visit such a magical place as a family and see it through their eyes was greatest gift for any parent.

The rooms were incredible, we had 2 double rooms which of course were adjoining, so we had space in abundance and the boys felt very grown up with their wristbands which gained them entry into their own room for when they fancied some chill time in the air conditioning. Beautiful walk-in showers, free standing bathtubs with ocean views and full-size Cinq Mondes Spa products. Plenty of wardrobe and storage space. Tv, fridge and coffee station. The view from our rooms overlooked the pool and beyond into the sea to the wonderful Seychelles islands. It was a great spot to watch the Seychelles Fruit Bats.
Above and beyond as always, there is really nothing more we could have asked for.
Yes, they both had balcony’s but were secure and high enough that the baby or boys were always safe even if for some reason we were not out there with them. This also allowed them to move freely between the 2 rooms.
As I mentioned above the boys loved the fact that their wristbands gave them access to their own room and made them feel very grown up. Baby had her own travel cot provided which she enjoyed playing in with her toys. Kids bath products were also provided as well as a potty if needed. English speaking TV channels were a little limited, but I would often catch the boys watching Disney channel in French.

You are never short of food options at club med Seychelles from breakfast to lunch, dinner, and snacks in-between. There is literally everything you can think of and always something for everyone even the fussiest of eaters amongst us.
The same with the drinks, the bar staff were always happy to make whatever you asked for and were also very accommodating when it came to helping you choose when you were spoilt for choice.
More than ample, at breakfast you spoilt with a wide range of fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals and freshly prepared juices, and smoothies. A huge selection of hot food from freshly made omelette, bacon, sausages and the wonderful pancakes or waffles which the kids loved. There were cold meats, pastries, and breads literally everything we could imagine.
Lunch and dinner were the same and no days were ever the same. There was always a wide selection of meats, salads, cooked fish, salads and of course all the children’s favorites including chicken nuggets, fries, burgers, and pastas.
Our favorite restaurant was the Reef bar lounge as it was great to sit out on the beach front being surrounded by the beautiful island. At night the sounds of the waves and sitting under the stars was just pure magic. This restaurant has a set menu and waitress service.
The kids would probably vote for Turtle cove as they loved being able to walk around choosing which food, they were going to eat next.

The activities

We really immersed ourselves in the club med experience and took part in everything we possibly could either as a family or taking it in turns to do the individual activities.
The gym facilities were perfect as were the spinning classes available. A personal favorite was the yoga studio. The aqua aerobics were a certainty for us everyday as even the kids loved joining in for this, we also played in table tennis tournaments, learned to play paddle tennis as a family, football, beach volleyball and then of course everything that was on offer at the waterfront, paddle board, canoes, snorkeling. Looking back now, I am starting to wonder how we managed to fit it all in.
Yes, paddle tennis we had never done before, which we absolutely loved, and the boys had never been on a catamaran which were available everyday at the nautical center.

Did you enjoy any of the resort entertainment? What was on offer when you were there?

Entertainment was great and our favorites were the sunset ritual’s which would take place on the beach and there would be a live DJ, cocktails served in coconuts and great vibes, these would be on twice a week at two different locations on the island and were wonderful. The white night is always special too. We liked to reserve a pool side table outside to dine and could watch the entertainment from there. Champaign, sparklers, and lots of dancing.

A family resort

100% even in the reef bar lounge which wasn’t a ‘Buffett’ style restaurant, but the staff and chef would always cater for whatever the kids wanted that sitting, even if it wasn’t on the menu. I would say that they missed being able to grab some home comforts such as sweets and crips etc. but they always managed to find an alternative. They did say they also wished the chocolate fountain was available EVERY night.

Were you able to spend time without your children during your trip?

The short answer would be not as we love to go on holiday as family and enjoy it together. However, we did get plenty of rest each day as the boys were more than happy and content by the pool and enjoyed taking part in the host of activities that were constantly on offer.

Yes, without a doubt and to be completely honest Club Med make it so much easier. We have When you know are you going to be greeted at the arrival airport by a friendly smiling club med rep, have all your transfer sorted and you know your destination is going to be everything it immediately puts your mind at rest, especially travelling with kids we always feel well looked after but more importantly we feel safe.
