Brexit: how to prepare my holiday?

Brexit is happening on end of March and yet, the political process is still ongoing. We don't know yet the final income but we already can give you some tips to best prepare your next holiday if you are travelling to EU after 29th March.

I will be travelling to EU after 29 March 2019, what do I need to prepare?

1. Check the date your passport expires
We recommend you to have 6 months left on your passport on your departure date to EU. The UK Government has published a website tool to determine if you need to renew your passport before departure date.

2. Get a travel insurance
When travelling in the EU and beyond, it is important that you are cover under any circumstance, including medical conditions.

3. Check your driving licence
In a no-deal scenario, UK travellers looking to travel by car in the EU after Brexit may need to apply for the relevant International Driving Permit.

4. Be careful with your data roaming
In case of a no-deal scenario, EU rules will no longer applies and you may have to deal with UK phone companies prices. We advise you to check with your phone operator the costs of using your mobile in the EU.

Do you need a visa to travel to EU?

You shouldn’t need a visa to travel to EU after Brexit. Even in a no-deal scenario, UK travellers can still visit the EU without a visa, providing the same is offered to European citizens visiting the UK.

Could my holiday be cancelled because of Brexit?

There is nothing to suggest that you will not be able to continue with your holiday plans after 29 March. Even in a no-deal scenario, the European Commission has said flights to and from the UK will still be able to operate.
If you book a package, your holiday will be protected under the Package Travel Regulations, meaning you have a right to a full refund if your holiday can no longer be provided.
