Excursions

2-Excursion package

For those who want to be sure they make the most of the excursions, we propose a Combined programme with two excursions: ● Upper Atlas in a 4x4 (1 day)
● Alternative Marrakech (1/2 day) Dates (the two are not interchangeable) will be given on arrival at the Resort.


Alternative Marrakech (1/2 day and evening)

Explore the city of Marrakech and its hidden treasures before dinner in a Riad down in the Medina.

Essaouira (1 day)

Recommended by our Excursions desk.

Ancient Mogador, the city built in the 18th century by the sultan Sidi Mohamed ben Abdellah. This white city with blue shutters and doors has stunning Vauban-style fortifications. At Essaouira*, discover all the different districts: the jewellers' and thuya marquetry quarters, the mellah (Jewish quarter), the Berber market... Fish lunch.

Gardens of Marrakech (half-day)

Ride out in a horse-drawn carriage to discover the Majorelle Garden, a haven of peace in the middle of the bustling modern city, the work of the French painter it is named after. A walk in the KOUTOUBIA gardens and the MENARA olive grove.

Karting (1/2 day)

Experience the thrills of hurtling round this 1,350 metre-international track... a great moment to share with family or friends

Kasbah of Télouet and Ouarzazate (2 days)

Excursion recommended by our Excursions desk.

Through the Upper Atlas mountains via the highest mountain road pass in Morocco. Visit to the Kasbah at Télouet, the favourite residence of the former pasha of Marrakech. Through the Berber valley of Ounila (the former route of the gold and slave caravans) leading to the Ksar of Aït Ben Haddou*. After the Reg (desert of stone), discover the Fint Oasis and take part in a mint tea ceremony with the locals. Visit to the Kasbah in Taourirt, another residence of the Lord of the Atlas.

Monuments of Marrakech (1/2 day)

Barouche (horse drawn carriage) ride for a guided tour of the main monuments of the city: The Saad tombs (17th century royal necopolis), the Dar Si Said museum and the Bahia palace.
On the return journey, stop off at a carpet cooperative.

Ouarzazate and Kzar Aït Ben Haddou (1 day)

Cross the imposing Upper Atlas mountain chain via Tichka, the highest mountain road pass in Morocco (2260 m), with frequent stops to admire the view on the most beautiful road in Morocco. Visit to Ksar (fortified village) at AIT BEN HADDOU, an ancient caravanserai regsitered by UNESCO as a World Heritage site; Moroccan lunch, visit to the Kasbah at TAORIRTE, the home of the powerful EL GLAOUI family during the first half of the 20th century.

Ourika Valley (1 day)

Visit the Majorelle gardens, then head south for the northern foothills of the Upper Atlas mountains. Drive through Berber villages in the valley. Moroccan lunch in a restaurant. Return to Marrakech via the famous Menara basin.

Quad-biking (1/2 day)

If you love freedom and open spaces, go quad-biking to discover the area around Marrakech, through wadis, olive groves and arid expanses.

Mint tea with the locals, a great, authentic experience.


Souks of Marrakech (1/2 day)

Travel through time as you visit North Africa's most famous souks*. Visit the various trade guilds: copperware manufacturers, dye workshops, ironware merchants etc. Visit Medersa Ben Youssef, a former Koranic school, souvenir stalls and a herbalist's store.

Tadelakt (half-day)

Learn more about an ancestral tradition covering the walls of palaces and riads. Tadelakt is a preparation based on lime and natural pigments whose texture and the "roundness" it can achieve make it ideal for walls, bathrooms, Turkish baths and, more recently, decorative objects.

Discover the Berber civilisations of the Moroccan Upper Atlas region and admire the amazing contrasts in colours and odours. Take traditional mint tea with a local family. See the Lalla Takerkoust dam. Discover the Ourika and Asni valleys.
