    The very hot Saharan and arid at the south of the country and in the deserts-type climate goes milder for the north thanks to the influence of the Mediterranean. Rains are very rare ( Alexandria 240 mm Port Saïd 80mm Assiout 2mm). Temperatures are rarely falling under 10°C (50°F) in winter but can exceed 40°C (104°F) in summer. A wind of dry sand -the Khamsin- is frequent in spring, usually in April. It can reach 150km/h (93 miles/h) and the temperatures can quickly rise. ADVICE: from November to April, the evenings and nights may be cool; suitable clothing is recommended.
